The Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2002

The Promotion of Access to Information Act, No 2 of 2000 (“the act”) came into effect on 23 November 2001. Section 51 of this Act require Novare to compile a manual providing information to the public regarding the procedures to be followed when requesting information from Novare for the purpose of exercising or protection of any right. These rights include but are not limited to:

  • Reasonable Protection of Privacy
  • Commercial Confidentiality
  • Effective, Efficient and Good Governance


The manual is also intended to foster a culture of transparency and accountability.
